Texas Mission Trip: July 30 - August 3

LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES:
During the year, UMY are offered opportunities to develop skills in leadership by attending conference leadership training, and participating as youth representatives on church committees and the Church Council.  Other opportunities include serving as participants in the morning Sunday Services, and accepting positions on the Youth Council.

SERVICE INVOLVEMENT:
UMY programs are scheduled by an active Youth Council that is elected by their peers.  Some of the events in which the youth have been involved in recently include dramatic presentations, lock-ins, visits to shut-ins, clowning events, fund-raisers, and missionary work on summer youth trips.

OTHER EVENTS:
The youth of our church also take part in many other outstanding events.  Special holiday opportunities enable our youth to reach out to others.  Interested youth and adults who love drama and singing occasionally present plays.  Our youth share their musical talent for worship services and other special occasions.

The “Voices of Light” Choir, led by Andy Messina, is for age groups 5th through 12th grades.  Practice is every Sunday at 4:00 P.M. in the Choir Room of the Activity Building.   The choir is occasionally asked to sing in the community.  The Circuit Rider newsletter will indicate their singing schedule.
