We got to sleep in today ... as late as 7 AM! Steve, Clint, and
Jonathon fixed eggs, bacon, and pancakes. After eating and cleaning
up, we took off about 9:30. On the way out of town, we stopped by
the sign on the west side of Antlers and took this picture.
We took the Indian Turnpike south and then headed east on Hwy 70.
Steve was pointing out cows and joking about seeing buffalo, when all of
a sudden we actually did see about half a dozen buffalo in a field. We
pulled over and took a few pictures.
We ate lunch at a combination Wendy's/gas station in Texarkana.
We took a detour to Atlanta (Atlanta, Texas, that is) and were soon back
in Louisiana. After a couple of bathroom stops (and photo stops for
Tim), we arrived in Lafayette for supper (around 7 PM). We rolled
into FUMC, Houma at about 9:30 PM. Vans were unloaded, we said a
prayer of thanks, and everyone went home to sleep in a real bed for the
first time in a week.
