What an exciting Week!
Both Sunday services were strong and we were blessed during the 11:00AM service with singing from the Cherub Choir.  This week we were hosting about 15 Jewish students from Emory University.  When we added the 77 from the Presbyterian village to our 15 students, your church prepared and served about 100 volunteers an excellent meal and desserts on Monday.  These young college students are spending their break from school working and helping our neighbors in Houma and Dulac.  The blessings from your hospitality will be spread from coast to coast as they return to their homes in California, New York, Michigan, Texas, and all places in between.

We continue to get excellent financial reports of your faithfulness. We are more than current with our apportionments and our loan payments.  While a few of you are a little behind on your pledge, some of you have been giving extra.  I know we hear a lot of negative comments about the national economy, but most of us are doing pretty good right now.  We need to do our best to help others while we can.  The Lord continues to bless us with resources to do His work.
I’m looking forward to our Children’s Learning Center Circus this Saturday.  I have heard “strange” sounds coming from the sanctuary this week.  Mostly parents and family will gather in the sanctuary at 10:00AM for the “Really Big Show”.  From 11:00AM until about 2:00PM there will be plenty of games and food in the Activity Building and around the church grounds.  We hope many people from the congregation and the neighborhood will come to have a good time.  Spread the news!
As we continue our journey toward Jerusalem, we will read the story of Jesus clearing the temple, and revisit the big 10 rules found in Exodus.  My message is entitled:  “C.E. for Everyone.”
Until Sunday (or Wednesday at 6:30PM),
                                                                          Pastor Don

MUSIC MINISTRYNEWS  from Dr. Kenneth Klaus
VOICES OF LIGHT- Hey Kids!  Do you know what time it is?  It’s time for you to come to Voices of Light and use your talents to musically praise the Lord.  We meet Sunday afternoons at 4:00PM in the Choir Room.  Anyone from Grade 12 down to Grade 5 is welcome.  We’ll learn about music and singing as well as some songs to sing in church.  I’ll see ya Sunday!
CHANCEL CHOIR- WOW!  Chancel Choir is growing again!  We’d like to welcome our newer singers:  Tim Culler, Dena Bordelon, Rick Duet, and Joshua Martin.  If you love to sing and can carry a tune (we’ll issue buckets) Chancel Choir can be your creative outlet in worship and serve the Lord, too!
HANDBELL CHOIR- Our church has a beautiful five-octave set of handbells from Ann and Bill Breeding.  Unfortunately, we don’t currently have enough ringers to use all those bells.  If you can count musically (to 4 is often high enough) and read the musical alphabet from A-G, then YOU are the person we are looking for!  Les Belles Clochettes, our English Handbell Choir, meets Sunday afternoons at 5:00PM in the Activity Building Classroom.  Be there with Bells on!            -Kenny Klaus

THEY CAME!  THEY ATE!  THEY LOVED IT!
Thanks to ALL who contributed to the supper served to 90 Mission Volunteers on Monday night!  A “Special Thank You” goes to Delvin Foret for his delicious Gumbo recipe enjoyed by all!  Some students have never experienced the “bliss” of eating Gumbo!  (Imagine that!)  So they had to come back for second servings to prove to themselves that it was as good as they thought it was the first time!  That proves what we already know! Methodists are GREAT COOKS!                                         -Shirley Hebert
