Lay readers are used to lead selected portions (responsive reading, scripture, welcome, etc.) at our 11:00 service.

Guidelines:

- Find out what you will have to read ahead of time. The bulleting should be prepared by Wed. or Thurs. the week before the church service.
- Practice reading your material.
- If your reading has words/names that are difficult to pronouce, work on those a bit more.
- Speak slowly
- Enunciate
- You may want to print your text in a larger font size to make it easier to read.
- Speak into the microphone
- If you feel comfortable enough, try looking at the audience from time to time to connect with them.
- If you make a mistake, just keep reading.
