PASTOR’S MESSAGE
"A Celebration Sunday”
Roger Lathan has been our District Superintendent for the past four years.  He has been here to lead us through Charge Conferences and at other times as needed and for District meetings.  His schedule has been very full on Sunday mornings so he has not had a chance to worship with us.  This will change this coming Sunday as he joins with us during the 11:00AM service.  I asked him to join with us in a celebration of our newly renovated worship space.  He will lead us in a special prayer to bless our sacred space.
I have known Roger for a number of years and have always appreciated his support for the churches and pastors in his district.  He also has a profound love and respect for the lay persons in our churches.  This is evidenced by the fact that Roger is usually the last one to leave a meeting.  We have all known District Superintendents who seemed like they couldn’t wait to get out of town.  This is not the case with Roger.
In order to make sure that you have a chance to visit with Roger, we will have a fellowship time after the service.  I have heard how much folks used to enjoy lemonade on the lawn, so I asked Barbara English to make a few calls.  She has arranged finger foods and lemonade for us after the worship service so we will all have a time to visit.  We will move right from church to the Fellowship Hall and lawn for this time together.
Our worship attendance has been great for the past couple of weeks.  I hope that you will make it a point to worship with us this Sunday and join us at noon for this celebration.                                                  -Peace!  Barry

Pam Hebert’s beloved father, Robert Bird, passed away on June 27th.  We pray for comfort for Don and Pam’s grieving family, and for Pam’s sisters and brother, Shelly Martin, Doug  Bird, and Sheila Odea.  May God bless this family in their time of sorrow.

YOUR PIECE OF THE STAINED GLASS WINDOWS
The carefully removed and stored stained glass is now ready for those interested in acquiring a piece.  Donations are asked ranging from $2.50, $5.00, $10.00, $15.00, up to $50.00.  The small broken scraps of glass are free with a donation of a prayer for our church.  All proceeds will go toward the Building Fund.  Please be generous.  Susie Pierron, a local stained glass artist, can be contacted by individuals to design and construct memorial pieces if so desired.  Those individuals will meet privately with Susie to discuss designs and costs.
The Stained Glass Committee will open the doors to the old parsonage to view and retrieve your glass on Sunday, July 16, from 12:30pm until 3:30pm.  BE ADVISED for health (lead) and safety (glass) reasons everyone should use CAUTION!  A small box to carry home the glass, gloves, and enclosed shoes is recommended.  Small rambunctious children should be CLOSELY monitored or left with a sitter.  If you will be unable to attend at this time, another day in the future will be set aside or arrangements with the committee may be possible.                                                                   -Vicki Aycock, Chairperson

Only a few are left.   These items will be for sale in the Church Office.   There will be a small donation asked, depending on size and shape.  The money collected will go to the Grand Piano Fund.  What a wonderful way to have a piece of religious history from the Sanctuary of our church!
