Sunday - June 20
   
Monday - June 21
   Be at the church for 4am
   Leave on a Dixieland charter bus
   Breakfast - provided
   Stop at Hattiesburg to switch drivers
   Lunch - rest area in Alabama; pack food (we'll have drinks)
   Supper - at the resort
Tuesday - June 22
   7:30 am - Breakfast (pancakes, sausage)
   8:30am - Leave for Christus Gardens
   11am - Head back to the retreat
   11:30am - Lunch (sandwiches)
   1pm - Leave for Cades Cove
   5pm - Head back to retreat
   7pm - Supper (spaghetti)
Wednesday - June 23
   8am - Breakfast (bacon, eggs, grits)
   9:30am - Leave for OberGatlinburg
   Church Service in the evening
Thursday - June 24
   7:30am - Breakfast (cereal, oatmeal)
   8:30am - Leave for Clingman's Dome; Newfound Gap
   11am - Head back to retreat
   Noon - Lunch (sandwiches)
   1pm - Leave for White Water Rafting 
   2pm - Rafting appointment
   Supper (chicken stew)
Friday - June 25
   8am - Breakfast (french toast)
   9am - Leave for Laurel Falls
   Head back to the retreat
   Lunch (sandwiches)
   Afternoon - go to Downtown Gatlinburg
   Head back to the retreat
   Supper (Beef stew)
   Return to Gatlinburg - Solid Rock Cafe coffee house
Saturday - June 26 
   6am - Breakfast (cereal, poptarts)
   Head home about 7am
   Lunch - packed lunches
   Supper - ?

Getting There
   The trip to Gatlinburg is about 700 miles.  Since we're crossing the time line, it'll take an extra hour (on the clock) going there ... but an hour less coming home.  Below is a map of the Houma-Gatlingurg route.
Where We'll Be
   We will be at the Wa-Floy Mountain Village Retreat.  It's located about 10 miles east of Gatlinburg on Hwy 321, on the northen edge of the Smokies (see red dot on map, right).  See their website for more information.

Gatlinburg
   We'll be going into Gatlinburg for two of the days.  Included with the cost of the trip will be a visit to OberGatlinburg and Christus Gardens.

   Though a ski-resort in the winter, the main attraction when we arrive will be the amusement area.  The $16 all-day pass (to selected rides) will be included in the overall trip cost.  Youth will be responsible for additional costs.  Hours: 10am-varies

Christus Gardens [Go to their site]
   The primary feature of this attraction is the 3-D dioramas of Biblical scenes.  There are also other collections of religious artifacts.  The group rate admission ($8.52) will be included in the overall trip cost.  Hours: 8am-9pm

Pigeon Forge
    The small town of Pigeon Forge has become big tourist attraction, with numerous shows, shopping, and more.  We'll be going into Pigeon Force, a few miles north of Gatlinburg, on Wednesday evening for a church service.

Smoky Mountain National Park
   We'll be staying a stones' throw from the Park.  We may be driving into the park to visit scenic Newfound Gap, Cades Cove, etc.  There are numberous hiking trails and waterfalls in the park.  One of the easier trails is Laurel Falls.  We'll be hiking there on one of the days.

Appalachian Outdoors Whitewater Rafting [Link to their site]
 

   Whitewater rapids are classified from class I to level V (there's a level VI, but that's TOO rough).  Their Upper Pigeon River trip has class II-IV rapids.  Their Lower Pigion River trip has clas I-III rapids.
